About the WPC

At ALA’s Writing and Professional Center students can receive tutoring in writing for their classes or help with any professional or creative writing. Students are encouraged to set up an appointment or drop by the WPC to work on their class assignments or any other writing they want to undertake. This service often helps students earn higher grades on assignments and succeed overall, because tutors teach students how to evaluate and improve their writing with regard to spelling, grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, brainstorming, and essay development. Additionally, if students need help with an application essay or with reading comprehension, they can seek it here. A visit to the WPC counts as Extended Study credit. It is a complimentary service for full-time ALA students.
